Gopi is a pretty, naive, docile and innocent girl in her early 20s who was raised by her loving Mama (uncle) and tyrannical Mami (aunt) after she lost her parents at an early age. Gopi never found the true love of a mother and craves this same love from her mother-in-law, Kokila Modi. She will go to any effort for her family and never begrudges doing household chores. Her only dream is to have a loving husband and in-laws. Her former life that was ruled by her evil-minded aunt Urmila and smart cousin Rashi leaves her naive, uneducated and easily exploited. Gopi has no ambitions other than gaining the love of all, particularly her husband, Ahem Modi. However, now, with her mother in law Kokila's help, Gopi slowly starts appealing to Ahem, though Ahem is hesitant to accept the fact.
